Hey there friends! Thanks for stopping by. I haven’t posted in awhile and thought I’d let you know what we have been up to. Really, it’s just a little of this and a little of that. LOL!
The end of the year schedules with kids is always tricky. All those parties at school for the little ones and finals for older ones I am feeling like a chicken with my head cut off on most days. But it’s all worth it for the relaxed summertime schedule!
I snapped this picture one morning when Preston was not ready for Sydney to leave for school. He loves his big sister so much. And she is smitten with him as well. They decided he could just go in her backpack. And I have not doubt he would have been fine with this set up. It cracked me up. I think she would have taken him too. LOL! Love the stuff kids think up!
Sage has always been a firecracker. She is constant motion and smiles as she zooms past. Love that happy girl. Of all the children, Sage is my mini me. She loves to clean and is the peacemaker. She can crack a joke and laughs hardest at her own jokes. She is my best helper and we call it quality time if we are folding laundry together.
Sage graduated kindergarten. She was lucky enough to have the cutest kindergarten teacher who gave each of them an award based on candy. My sweet, happy girl received the Jolly Rancher Award. Which fits her perfectly. She is the happiest child on the planet. I can’t believe my sweet baby girl is going to the first grade in the fall. They really do grow up too fast. But I know this one can handle anything! She is a spitfire and never met a stranger. Love her strength and courage to make friends with everyone.
This spring, like every spring is spent shuffling Sydney to and from basketball practices or games. This year she is lucky enough to be doing an AAU team and her school team both with her two best friends. Lots of giggling and hugs are going on between running up and down the court. Every weekend has been filled with travelling to different locations to watch her play. It has been so exciting and fun to watch her grow as a player that we don’t mind one bit.
Sydney also is going to be an 8th grader in the fall. How did that happen? I feel like just yesterday I was putting little smocked dresses on her and huge bows in her hair. She is turning into an incredible young lady and I am both sad of the little girl that isn’t there, but proud of the lady she is becoming. It’s so bittersweet. I just want to hug her a little longer each day to protect her from the world. Okay, now I’m crying as I write this. Sappy Mom over here!
This little man turned 4 at the end of May. He has me wrapped around those cute chunky fingers! Love my little boyfriend so much! He told us that all he wanted for his birthday was a pool party and a cookout. Done and Done. I just love how easy he is to please. It was the last day of school for the girls so when they got home from school the party started.
We had friends come over and it was a great start to the summer. I cooked out hamburgers and grilled chicken and we had friends stop by who all brought gifts for Preston. He told me later that he had so much fun he wanted to do it all over again tomorrow. That boy cracks me up!!
Welcome to summertime!! Relaxed schedules and lots of playtime. I hope to enjoy my children as much as I can. Lots of giggles and long hugs because in a blink of an eye it will be Fall again and the hectic schedules will resume.
